The East Asian people

Postby Yessica » 19 Jan 2014, 10:17

This might be stereotyping.

We have a lot of East Asian tourists were I live, which are typically nice and respectful, but I noticed something. They seem to "mimic" us, which sometimes goes as far as dressing in clothes they believe to be "local". They often go totally gaga about some of the tourist attractions, buy all of the souvenirs.

The East Asians who live were I live are very German with the one main difference that they seem to place more value on learning and I heard the same from the USA and from the UK.

We often talked about Westerners giving up their cultures to readily, yet it seems to me that East Asians do this far more easily. I might be totally wrong.

If I am not wrong: what do you believe to be the cause for this behaviour?
