Safer Guardian Browsing

Postby Maxwell » 24 Feb 2014, 20:02

I visit The Guardian site quite regularly, often whilst having a snack, and have found that certain author photographs make me feel queasy. Thanks to CSS, and a handy browser add-on/extension called Stylish, I'm able to preserve my appetite by removing the offending faces.

Here is the CSS rule I currently employ:

Code: Select all
.link-image img[src*="Pussy-Riot"]  {
   display: none;

Haha! Excellent work - I like the advanced attribute selectors there!

That's such a good idea. I use Adblock on Chrome so never see ads there, thank goodness, and F-Droid with AdAway for the same on Android, but this is a very inventive way of hiding even more potentially offensive content.
