Alabama school bans the word "Easter"

Postby Nathan » 29 Mar 2013, 13:39

Heritage Elementary School in Madison, Alabama has banned the use of the term 'Easter' on the grounds of 'religious diversity conflicts', although Easter-related activities have been allowed to continue, such as an egg hunt and a costumed rabbit - real corrupting and extremist Christian activities going on there!

I can perhaps understand this in a very mixed inner-city area or in a region with deeply-entrenched liberal sentiment, but how many people of other religions can there be living in a small city in the Bible Belt? Who could possibly have been offended or potentially have been offended? I'm not even aware of this happening in Britain, and we are supposed to be second in the race towards cultural self-destruction behind only the Scandinavians. It's disturbing if somewhere like Alabama isn't safe from anti-Christian sentiment and anti-the whole value structure that has held their society together for their entire history, because if they don't have the cultural confidence to stand up for their traditional beliefs, where in the Western world will?

Again, it seems to be the way of multiculturalism that the host culture is sacrificed to placate the incoming cultures; the dinner party host becoming the dinner, so to speak.

Why do they use the word diversity when it is anything but?

The correct word they should be using is uniformity. Of course we all know why they won't use that word.
