Open Range (2003) and Unforgiven (1992)

I recently saw this and liked it. It was quite like Clint's definitive western Unforgiven. Some dialogue from that film:

Hackman: You just shot an unarmed man.
Clint: Well he should have armed himself.

Clint: Any man don't wanna get killed better clear on out the back.

From Open Range:

Charley Waite: Men are gonna get killed here today, Sue, and I'm gonna kill 'em.

These are essentially men's films, masculine films, films about men protecting women and making a stand against tyranny for what is right. They're realistic about the need, sometimes, to confront evil head-on. I'd say they're conservative films.
